BMBF-Research Center Collaboration und RFID

The Federal ministry of Economics and Technoligy (BMWi) supports the reseach center Co-RFID „Efficient Collaboration in RFID – Supported Value Networks“ as a part of research program „next generation media“. The research consortium consists of: Gerry Weber plc, Daimler Chrysler plc, Gustav Wellmann Ltd & Co. LP, SAP plc, Technical University Berlin Logistic Faculty, Humboldt-University  Berlin and Otto-von-Guericke – University Magdeburg. The project with total funding of five million Euro will continue till the end of 2009.

As a part of Co-RFID research center the collaboration potential of RFID-Technology is identified and evaluated. In particular, joint use of RFID-Infrastcucture and use of IT- and Logistics services based on it through the partners in the value chain are examined. In this context collaboration means cooperation of companies using RFID-Technology, starting from supliers, than through logistics services up to manufacturer, than up to distribution.

Project Description:

The use of synergies between applied research and business practice is the basis for the success of Electronic Business Forum. Within cooperation process, the Electronic Business Forum takes ove following tasks:

• Overall management of the project
• Internal communication and coordination (i.a. Annual Meetings, Projektworkshops)
• Coordination with the accompanying  (VDI / VDE)
• Coordination with the  project management (DLR)
• External  communikations  and management (i.a. press contacts, press releases)
• Design, implementation and maintenance of Web-sites (Basis TYPO 3)
